The most expensive professional monitors in the world
5 Eizo ColorEdge CG248-4K
A 23.8-inch professional-grade Studio 4K monitor with an IPS matrix, a wide-format (16:9) resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of 70 Hz. It received a fairly bright backlight of 350 CD / m2, a contrast ratio of 1000: 1, but it is not impressive with a response time of up to 14 MS, i.e. it cannot be used as a gaming device. On the other hand, there is everything for a comfortable work of the designer, including three additional USB ports, the ability to rotate to portrait mode, the color calibration option and the function of compensation for uneven illumination.
There is also a significant drawback: this model does not show the best level of energy saving in the world and consumes about 136 watts in operating mode, as well as about 9 watts in sleep mode. In any case, with this monitor, your computer will become an excellent workstation for photo editing and video editing.
4 ASUS ProArt PA32UCX-K
An expensive premium Studio monitor that shows excellent value for money. Originally designed for the needs of designers, this display received a 32-inch IPS matrix with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels (4K) and a backlight brightness of 600 CD / m2. This is one of the best indicators in the world in the segment of professional PC monitors, complemented by a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a response time of only 5 MS, i.e. at the level of some gaming models.
As a bonus, users get support for several HDR standards at once (Dolby Vision, HDR10, etc.), the most complete color coverage in 100% sRGB, the option to compensate for uneven illumination, the x-rite I1 Display Pro calibrator and a large selection of ports: Thunderbolt 3, HDMI 2.0 b, DisplayPort 1.2, USB Type A, plus USB Type-C. The only noticeable drawback: not impressive sound quality of the built-in speakers.
3 DELL UltraSharp UP3218K
An impressive 31.5-inch model based on the IPS matrix, which stands out for its resolution of 7680×4320 pixels. This is almost full-fledged 8K, which will allow you to work comfortably with 360-degree content, which video editors and designers will surely appreciate. At the moment, this is the best display resolution in the world, even among premium models. Among other advantages: the option to turn to porter mode, backlight brightness of 400 CD / m2, 100% sRGB coverage and a response time of 6 MS.
On the other hand, for normal operation, you will need a high-performance computer with an appropriate video card that can digest 8K content and output a signal via DisplayPort. We also add that the high performance of the monitor leads to an increased power consumption of 87 watts in operating mode. Well, the last minus is a large weight, reaching 17 kg.
2 Apple Pro Display XDR
Apple has returned to the monitor market with a very expensive model that will perfectly suit designers and video editors who are used to Apple PCs. The 32-inch Pro Display XDR is based on a Retina display with a resolution of 6K (6016×3384 pixels), which guarantees the highest accuracy of image detail. What’s more, this expensive display gets enhanced HDR support, 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 10-bit color depth, and a wide P3 color gamut.
The key advantage of Apple’s offering is its versatility: the monitor can easily be either Studio or gaming, although the latter comes with some limitations, as the upper refresh rate is limited to 60 Hz. There is also a rich selection of ports, including a dual USB hub. The main disadvantage of this monitor is its very high power consumption, which reaches 176 watts in operating mode.
